7th track on「Fortissimo」album. *NOTE:* This is the Single version! "I'll be fighting to the cold and bitter..." September 2nd. It's the day the most tragic event in human history comes to a close, it's also my country's Independence Day. "la Résistance" chronicles the tragic story of a resistance fighter, longing to see their home turn anew, to the days without ash and flames. A big chunk of the lyrics in this song was written when I was in military academy back in April. When I was young, my grandparents would tell me their stories growing up back in the 1940s and 1950s. It was a tough time as the country was poverty stricken and engulfed in wars. They would only see the country and their family prosper by the time they hit their 70s. Yet, despite all of it, they would always be filled with smiles and laughter whenever they reminisce about the old days. This song is dedicated to my grandfather and my grandmother, who passed away in 2022 and 2023 respectively. I'm grateful to be born in a much more peaceful time, where needs are adequately met and myself to be properly educated.
