NEW SONG!!! YIPPEE!!! I just want to make the meaning of this song VERY clear because it could be a bit controversial. As stated in the warning, this is NOT an anti-religion song. The last thing I want is for anyone to feel disrespected by it. This song is about my personal experiences with televangelism and religious guilt. A few years ago, I was manipulated into fervent evangelical Christianity and it affected my mental health GREATLY. I don't want to tell my whole story, but it was a really dark time in my life when I was putting extreme pressure on myself to be perfect. Fire and brimstone preachers made me feel that I was irredeemable and made me experience panic attacks almost nightly. Luckily, I found my way out. I still believe in God, but my relationship with him is personal, and won't be swayed by money-hungry, exploitative con men. BASICALLY, that's what this song is about.
