Wow, where did September go? Hard to believe in just a few days it'll have already been three whole months since my American Idiot video dropped, and now here I am with my third cover from the album! You may have noticed this was also my only video in September. I've said before in a post or two but the next few months are probably gonna be this way as well, just to give me some time to recharge and prepare some more music for you all. In that time I'll also be chipping away at the rest of the songs from American Idiot little by little. I don't want to give an exact time frame on when it'll all be done, but it's happening! Working on this song hit me with a pretty big wave of motivation. I've got one more song from the album that I intend to release as a single and video around the holidays, then I'm gonna focus on getting the rest of the album done instead of making videos for every individual song. So look forward to it! I'll be honest, I used to detest this song. I still wouldn't quite say I love it. But working on this cover has definitely helped me learn to appreciate it. There's a lot of stuff going on under the hood in this song that I didn't realize. Layers of instruments that you almost wouldn't know they were there if you didn't know they were there (wow that sentence makes sense, huh?).
