LINK TO SPOTIFY/APPLE MUSIC: https://musics.to/80529UAMC7 hello petals.... this is my first synthv duet, and i decided to make it after i was exposed to a bunch of online biphobia in the sapphic community. there's a lot of negative stereotypes bi people have had to deal with since the beginning of time, namely the one that this song is about, that they're destined to cheat on you with the opposite gender. i feel like i'm in a unique place to cover this topic given that A. I am a Bi Woman who at this point no longer dates men, and B. I've been in relationships with bi people and I've felt a bit jealous when they tend to express attraction to men more than women. I recognize that jealousy is unfounded and I never believed these people would cheat on me, but there's a unique feeling there of being insecure about the fact they have something you fundamentally don't. i wanted to draw on both sides and write about a failing relationship collapsing due to insecurity. i want to make it clear that I do not believe that the biphobic perspective expressed in this song is justified, nor do I think that lesbians are inherently insecure about their gender. These are exaggerated negative thoughts I've drawn from my worst moments. I chose Yi Xi and Solaria to duet as I think they both have mature voices that are very distinct yet blend well.
