This song is right in the middle of Solo's ideal range, so she was able to sing it well. All seven of her. lol. Oh this song. Anticlimactic ending is anticlimactic, lol. I have two theories. Either she really is DYING and REINCARNATING or she is just being all metaphorical and "death" just means "change". That and she's going through all the stages of clinical depression lol. (Though her reincarnating would explain the seemingly random ages she is shown in.) The end might make a little more sense if she is just changing personalities...but either way ,I think her "seventh self" wanted to break the cycle. I think she broke it. In the translation I changed "he/his" to "she/her" since this is a Kagamine Len song. As a character, Solo uses "boku" as her personal pronoun when speaking (because she's manly like that ) anyway, so it still fits. This song is totally out of character for Solo, save for the "first me". She's to stupid to worry about the world's problems. -------- 1.[Solo Azune Act 2 g-2] - "UTAU" self- As a program. She's made to sing, singing is what she does. She wasn't made to think. She's naiive and sees the world as "black/white" with no "grey". 2. [Solo Azune Act 2, g-7] - She realizes that there IS a grey area- and this scares her a little, but she figures if she keeps singing, the consequences won't affect her. 3. [Solo Azune Act 2 g+3] -The world begins to frustrate her. She becomes angry, annoyed and tries to overcome the whole world by singing- which kills her voice. 4. [Solo Azune Act 2, F00 g-4] -She calms down- and edjumacates herself. She now thinks "I am smart now, so I can just go through the world without a hitch". The world is colorful- and she's blind. (Thus the glasses, I suppose?) 5. [Solo Azune Act 2, g-17] - She becomes un-blind and can see where this is going. She become reserved while she thinks of a way out. 6. [Solo Azune Soft Append] - She gives up. Her singing voice is ruined, and she barely talks any more ("becomes taciturn"). Why even bother? I can't change anything, and I've lost the one thing I had. Her world becomes as silent as she is, and she accepts that. 7. [Solo Azune Act 2] -There was only so much she could take.
