Soreyuke, Yowamushi Kuruppa! - Michisato - UTAU cover (カバー）

In kanji, that's 「それ行け弱虫クルッパー」! I went on a weird Google adventure yesterday and this is what came out of it. I don't know either. So, anyway, this is a cover of the opening theme for the NHK 1970 version of Scooby Doo. The show was renamed Yowamushi Kuruppa, and the main characters were all given different names. This new theme tune, originally performed by a band called Redstone (maybe?) also came with it. It's got the same sort of content and flow as the English opening, although it turns out it's way more disparaging. It's also somehow peppier, which appears to just be how 70s anime openings were. The cast members were as such: the team was led by Handsome (Fred), the forensics were done by Megako (Velma), the live bait was provided by Kuruppa (Scooby) and Boropin (Shaggy), and the squad sweetheart was Jenny (Daphne). Yes, Jenny. (Also, if anybody knows where the name Kuruppa for Scooby might've come from, I'm all ears.) Of course, like basically every single American thing exported to Japan, the show was re-dubbed with all the localisation changes undone. However, you can still find some reminiscing for the Kuruppa version online, or people being confused at the title change. It's not quite as big over there as Wacky Races, though… Michisato's still not updated yet, so that's why his "do" sounds all "da"-ish. Doing stuff like this helps me work out where he needs improvement, though.
