When we stumbled on this song, the themes of loneliness and isolation in the lyrics as well as the bluesy feel of the music struck us as something that would fit the poem very well. It seemed like an expansion on the speaker's feelings as they look back on happier memories and wonder how those times could have slipped away from them.
