π (Pi) ft. Xiao Shancha, Canary, Seishi Starchaser, & Xiao Meihua (DeepVocal Cover)

Does this count as a demo for Meihua and Shancha? Not.... really? Up to you if that's how you want to interpret it! "Pi" was one of those songs where I was debating whether or not I wanted to cover it at all. Obviously since the video is up, I did do it. I finished this before the "Confess" cover featuring MEIKO, so I hurried on it, but I did the best I could with what little time I had. Also, I feel like now is a good time as any to talk a little about Shancha and Meihua's DeepVocal voicebanks. Shancha's is the same as her UTAU voicebank: CV Japanese. We are very aware of how dangerous that is to play with since DeepVocal does not favor CV very much. It is usable, but if you ever plan on downloading and using her when she is released, this is a word of caution. We are hoping to do more things with Shancha, but everyone's really busy with irl things, so we don't know how soon that would be. That's why she is a port /now/ rather than wait much later. If you read the upper credits, you'll notice that Meihua has "Sweet" in the label. This is not a port of her original CV Japanese voicebank at all. This is actually a port of her updated Japanese UTAU voicebanks that use CVVCV. We will be releasing two voicebanks in the new UTAU update and DeepVocal version: Natural and Sweet, just like her updated Mandarin voicebanks and upcoming English voicebanks. DeepVocal is likely to release first, so UTAU will come later, likely in 2020. Shancha and Meihua DeepVocal are likely to come 2020, but there is an off chance they could be releasing in 2019. The sisters will be releasing together! Speaking of dates, I don't think I'll have the chance to upload any more of /my/ works toward the end of 2019 (there are chances that I might upload JAE content though, just without my direct involvement lol). This might be the last thing for me this year. I do have more covers planned in the future, but I doubt it would be all set for 2019. Maybe ONE of them might, but that highly depends on the folks I'm collaborating with. :) So in case this is the last cover from me for the year, I just want to take the time to reflect. I think I've improved compared to my first original and covers back in 2016 and 2017. I went from dabbling with the controls and figuring out lyric inputs, to actually tuning things. It's up to you to decide whether or not I'm doing better, but for me personally, I think I am. I'm doing things that I never thought I'd be doing, so that's a plus in my opinion. I also got to finally use some of the JAE vocals through DeepVocal, so I'm forever happy about that. Meihua's been around for 3 years, and Canary and Shancha are almost a year old (1st anniversaries in February 2020! Be there!), so I'm really glad that I got to use them along with Pinku and Seishi, two of our affiliates! There is definitely more to come from me and from JAE VOCAL PROJECT soon or later.
