Hex here! It's another SNAFU cover woo!!! We're also at the point in my backlog where my oldest covers are mostly SNAFU covers, so we'll be doubling up on those and sharing a lot more of them yay! This was also another cover that needed its mixing redone lmao, but we're getting closer to the point where the old covers will start to have okay-ish mixing (around the time I got Ryo), so hopefully that means less work for me soon! Anyways it's time to talk about Kevin properly yay! I've talked about him a bit before with the Kevin x Metamorph covers, but I want to talk about his actual role in the story. As mentioned before, Kevin is one of Frimomen's coworkers. But also Kevin has a MASSIVE crush on Frimomen, and is in complete denial over it Kevin's one of those guys who falls into toxic masculinity, including insisting that he's straight (he is not). On top of that, he often looks down on people and surrounds himself with people he thinks are losers to make him feel better about himself. He's got a major inferiority complex on top of all of that. And also he's a cartoon character. His canonical appearance in SNAFU is ivylare's Mr. Kevin SynthV design, but he takes on the form shown here through his shapeshifting powers in order to be taken seriously Needless to say with all that preamble that Kevin's an antagonist. He first starts out trying to either break up or join SNAFU in order to keep hanging out with Frimomen, as he sees Frimomen as a friend, but also he treats Frimomen HORRIBLY. Later on, when it's a bit more clear that his efforts aren't going to work and Frimomen finally cuts him off, he ends up joining the villain group proper with Ninezero, Mai, and Ryo SNAFU and the villains are also interesting in that they parallel each other, with Frimomen and Kevin acting as parallels, Ninezero and Saros acting as parallels, Mai and Noa being parallels, and finally Ryo and An Xiao being parallels.
