After a scuffle between his squad and Eggman, they decide to ally with him, being promised great power. During Sonic Forces: Episode Shadow, a base they were guarding was raided by Shadow and almost all of the squad was wiped out and leaving Infinite defeated. Due to this, Eggman proposed an experiment to infuse Infinite with a Phantom Ruby prototype to give him new powers, which he gladly accepted, and later decided to partake in the War to Take Back the Planet on Eggman's side as a masked and mysterious mercenary, before being defeated once more and consumed by the real Phantom Ruby.
