Story time! ____ She remembered it, the argument she had with her mother that day. “If you’re going to make anything out of yourself, Katherine, you have to make use of the only talent you have!” Even if she meant it as a way to boost her confidence, all it did was make her bite at her nails more… Her mother had signed her up to go to a pretty prestigious school for the arts, Saint Tilde’s School of Art and Music, and she was quickly assigned into the music class. Of course, being of high status and royalty, her mother had pulled some strings to get her in. She didn’t even send a portfolio and they had already accepted her. She didn’t deserve it. So here Katherine was, giving a music presentation, and stuttering out of her mind while her peers snickered and whispered amongst themselves. She heard them throwing words about how the royalty was cursed, something she didn’t even want to be associated with. Tears flooded her eyes and she bowed as a final bow to tie up the presentation neatly. She lost her balance, falling over, onto the floor. She winced and went back to her seat. What a way to end the day. She couldn’t even sing, to be honest. It was the one thing she was good at, or at least that’s what she told herself, and she couldn’t even bring herself to get up in front of an audience. It was pathetic. She walked back to her family’s estate, wanting to just run away from it all. The Faust family, the singing, the school, the… everything, really. Then she felt a plunk on her head. She looked around, spotting a magenta colored bead. Katherine tilted her head, looking at it, before shrugging and walking through the gate.
