Somewhere, in an unknown, unspecified forest, a massive crater has long since been gouged into the earth. What fills this crater is not of the Earth, but also, not something natural of space. It is a lake- a lake comprised of its own kin's corpses, melted down into a mix of nothingness and shared autonomy- though still lacking. Somehow, trapped within this lake of death, there are seventeen souls- and an eighteenth, the remainder of the once great and powerful being that used to walk and jump and talk. This eighteenth soul has a name. Madekai. But Madekai is no longer herself, despite still holding onto her soul. No more than a mere flesh-drowned zombie, Madekai has been given the nickname Vau by her fellow Vani. A word untranslatable for humans, but one that sparks great fear amongst the beasts of genocide. This soul has another half. A human, who can walk and fly and speak... act by proxy for this flesh lake. Her name is Megan Luvzik. Those seventeen other souls.... they still glow. They're attached to bodies. Bodies belonging to creatures that were meant to help destroy this world. Should we really nuke it, captain? Should we destroy it? They're alive....... still alive..... We could free them..... .....Just..... leave the lake alone.
