I started writing this song back in February of 2022 when I was still a Junior in high school. This song went through sooo many different drafts throughout the years since the subject matter of being neurodivergent in the public school system was such a nuanced topic to write about. I feel like I was able to strike a good balance between the POV of a student going through all of this stuff and a young adult trying to navigate the world feeling like they've been failed by the institution that was supposed to prepare them for the rest of their life. Overall I'm really happy with how this song came out, especially considering how different this song is for me. It's really fun experimenting with this more bittersweet J-Pop inspired style, I hope you all enjoy!!!
