I made this song in like, 2020 when I was 19. It was a rhyme warm up as well as a test on how creative I could get with scales, and I'd based it off of BIG BROTHER by Kaku P-Model. I'd been dealing with some friend issues, so that was the main theme. I relistened to this song fairly recently because I wanted to get back in touch with myself and things I'd left behind for the sake of others, and then realized that this song... literally was foreshadowing for a bunch of issues in my life that would crop up later. It was kind of baffling. So yeah, since I usually boil down a lot of my stories to a moral, don't stick around people that make you feel like you constantly have to justify your existence. Don't stick around if they make you into a role within a group. Don't stick around if they treat you like a dog that needs to be trained. You are allowed to have agency, and if you ever feel like you don't, something isn't in balance. Luckily, I just happen to have an amazing memory, and can put what I went through into words. Never be afraid to tell YOUR story. It's okay to just talk. It's okay to be open, as long as you aren't making yourself or others hurt for it. Boundaries are so, SO important. I'm proud of you.
