Original song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LbO4pg_LHUI Translation reference: Mikeneko Holmes, proofread by Firstname Lastname & ｸﾗﾝﾌﾟ, edited by Violet330 Tools used: Vocals: Solaria AI Mixing: Reaper Vid: Blender, Vegas Pro 14.0 I have spent so fucking long on this project that i feel nothing about it now. no opinions whatsoever. i think this is the greatest amount of labor that ive spent on one of these things to date and holy shit i am never doing it again (im definitely doing it again lmfao) so yeah!! first ever giga song that i've covered. after doing the baby cover i got the courage and confidence to tackle a giga cover (with all its harmonies, ad libs, other layers and complex mix) and to be honest? putting together the audio went smoother than i thought it would!! by far these were the easiest translyrics i've ever made. i just looked up a bunch of gambling terms and it was smooth sailing from there. i had a lot of fun with the rap parts in particular and getting all the rhymes and rhythm down, and while in part this was just a shorter and easier song to do this for (not too many metaphors) i'd like to think it's also because i've just improved at writing these heheh tuning was REALLY fun! was afraid i wouldnt have enough power (really sorely missing solaria's belt, i dont have synthv pro) but frankly i think she pulled through she didnt even need it. figuring out the secret to doing rap was also really satisfying, first time i seriously drew out pitch bends instead of note bending everything (yes all the rap and talking in my previous covers were note bended........ pity me) mixing was also not as daunting as i thought! ive got the process of doing harmonies and stuff down to a pretty efficient speed, and i could say the same about mixing too. yeah i know she peaks at a couple of points but also other than that i basically have no issue with the mix, and it DOES make me proud that i can say that abt a giga cover (rettou joutou next?? lets go??? over my dead body im not doing that lol) and then. the video. i finished the audio of this cover like a few solid weeks before i touched visuals at ALL, and at first i was thinking hmm i'll just make a static art piece and then i blacked out and woke up ankle deep in blender so lmao. most ambitious skeletal rigging and animation ive ever done and i think it turned out pretty good! obviously dull and simple in comparison to the original's but i figured out pretty early on that if i tried to hold myself to that standard i would be out in the woods somewhere having revoked society and technology for the final time other than the blender stuff, which took ages (and also after exporting a bunch of image sequences i freaked myself out thinking that i had timed all the animations wrong and did a lot of frantic fps vs bpm math and ripped out all my hair before realizing i had just imported the sequences into vegas at 30 fps instead of 24 which is what i had created it as in blender haha rookie mistake) i also did some fancier subtitling using vegas's protype titler and it's SUPER cool i really really wish i had known about it earlier it was also very time consuming tho and yeah now im finished it literally doesnt feel real im prob not gonna do crazy videos for covers for a while. i miss actually tuning and stuff HAHAHA but someday.... this knowledge will find its way back to me --- #synthv #synthvai #solaria #vocaloid
