This got me thinking of other song ideas that could fit her character. I had the thought of; “If somebody was born on April 1st, someone would think they were pranking them when they said their birthday”, so with help from LovelyMetalhead, I came up with this song. - This song was written around the chorus. But as I was writing it, I realized that it was a little bit too depressing and I wanted it to have a happy ending. So I added the twist that everybody was hosting a surprise party for Teto. - The Talkloid section was the most fun part, because we started talking about what silly excuses someone would say to someone to passive aggressively reject an invitation which were obvious lies. Eleanor has to meet her Improv group, Solaria is feeding homeless dogs and Hxvoc got a merger of “renewing my licence" and “the circus is in town and they need a new clown.” The events are not chosen as part of their lore, it’s just random and funny. - I originally wanted to do a more complex lyric video like with Ragebait and Archive of my Own. But Archive was more time consuming to make than expected, and I wanted to make sure both songs were released on Teto’s birthday. This song fit her character much better, but Archive has the bigger gremlin energy. So this one got the basic lyric video edit. - Both this song and Archive of my Own unintentionally share the same Canon in D chord progression. This was not by design, but made them compliment each other. So this song became the B-side to Archive. - The line “Throwing eggs on my window” is based on an IRL experience. For some dumb reason, on April 1st in my neighbourhood, kids will just throw store bought eggs at peoples windows. So I added that line in as something that would irritate Teto as well.
