Even though there was not any music prebuilt into the movie (at least in 1925), I immediately became enraptured by the ambience of the film. Lon Chaney, starring as the lead antagonist, spectacularly becomes the Phantom, disfigured and rotting, mysterious and sad, touching audiences' hearts in the most twisted, dark way. Though I have only known about this song for a little more than a week’s time, I can profess that this is one of my favorite songs thus far. Marvelous yet simple melodies. Brilliant Instrumental. Captivating Ambience. Eleanor was amazing to work with! I’m still in disbelief with how well she can do opera.
