Original Vocaloid Metal tune Insomnia with Megurine Luka! ~~~~ Hey everyone! It's been a while! So, if you read the description of my Requiem der Morgenröte video you'll know that music has been stressing me out a lot recently. I've written a lot of stuff, but none of it has really given me any sort of positive feelings or enjoyment? I guess it's kinda like burn out except more like, I just wasn't having any fun doing anything, I didn't have the drive to upload as I used to and I was being incredibly critical over production quality as well which was really hindering any new releases. Don't get me wrong, I'm still incredibly critical over the production quality but I think I'm in a good place after this track where I feel I can begin releasing more new Vocaloid Metal as well as other Guitar-heavy Mixes & Covers and it'll actually sound like it's worth listening to. But it's October, and every year since 2015 I've had a Vocaloid song released in time for Halloween and I really didn't want to make this the first year I didn't have a song available. I've had trouble sticking to a standard sleeping pattern for the best part of 7 or 8 years now, I used to be a caffeine addict, drinking tons of coffee and energy drinks and so I totally destroyed any sense of body clock and regularly I'm awake for like 36-40 hours without sleeping or napping at all... even though I love sleep. And so, given that a lot of my Vocaloid music is centred around me, problems I have, problems I've faced in the past, emotions, feelings, thoughts etc all revolving around what goes on inside my head I decided I would write something kinda eerie and creepy, but also heavy at the same time about my horribly lacking sleeping ability. I also don't have the spare funds at the moment to commission an artist or an animator and so ultimately chose to dig deep and make a video myself... and I think it turned out pretty good actually. I don't have tons of experience with After Effects, and also don't really have boundless access to the internet right now so tutorials weren't really an option. When making the video, i had to make a change to the crediting, because I couldn't have the song name & the Music/Lyric credit take up all 8 bars of the section they appear at... so ultimately I chose to credit myself twice under 2 names as I don't intend to make a habit of animating videos for people and most people won't read this far to find this out haha! But I like the end result - and hopefully, you do too! I'm probably (hopefully) going to release another Vocaloid song or two before the year ends, but in January I aim to return to doing more regular videos! For now I'm going to continue to do a bit of soul searching while running Burnt Toast Records and helping out friends & other artists with issues they're having with YouTube, Music Licensing & Publishing etc. Thank you to everyone who has had the patience to stand with me despite this being a very lacklustre year in terms of content. Next year will be better, I promise! (I've already started working on some of next year's content!)
