I'd really appreciate it if you read it though! Well, I've had a lot of people saying they much prefer the old version to this (which is fine), so I decided to have a deep think about why I think this version is miles better and most other people... just don't. Don't take this the wrong way, I thrive on all feedback, but I think I need to comment on this because I realized something... Abusive mix and the original are two completely different songs. I don't mean that in the obvious way. Well duh, the instrumental is different and the chorus is slowed down and split up. But they're actually about two completely different things. It took me forever to realize this because the original was also supposed to be about what abusive mix is about, but it got so distracted by it's secondary theme of physical self-harm. Yeah, that's a secondary theme. Addiction to Pain, at least this version, is not so much about self-harm, turning down any help and saying 'screw you' to everyone. It's about habitually coming back to the same harmful thoughts and memories, over and over, until it becomes what defines you and you don't know how to make it stop. That's what I was thinking of when I wrote the lyrics to AtP. But then it just kind of turned into a song about self-harm and spiraling into madness. Not necessarily a bad thing, but it's not what I had intended. Also there's a different tone to this which is why I slowed down the chorus. That and it was ridiculously hard to sing and wasn't very practical. I wanted it to sound more lamenting and hopeless than 'im going crazy over here'. TL;DR... This remix represents what I had originally intended with the lyrics of AtP, so from here on out, please enjoy this as an entirely different song as opposed to a revamp. Maybe I'll rename it? I'm sure YouTube killed the quality, so please be sure to check out the higher quality mp3 file. c: Question time for all y'alls out there! A lot of people have said they liked the original better mostly because the chorus was faster. But can I ask why? Not trying to be defensive or anything, but is it because it's catchier? Because you feel it expresses the feeling better? also the scream is still there. c: ehehehe
