This is a setting of poetry, in that we have set the words of a poem to music. The poem is Ame ni Mo Makezu (雨にもまけず) or "Be Not Defeated By The Rain". It is a wonderful poem by Kenji Miyazawa. For us it's about constantly striving to be a good person, of being quietly stoic and honorable, doing the right thing, and never seeking praise. Not letting life or consequences get you down or stop you from being dutiful and living your life as best as you can for others.
