Gaze of Wind - PGR (English + Simple Arrangement) Cover ft. Feng Yi

Hello, this is my first public upload of anything at all on this channel!! Happy 4th Anni, PGR!! There's already a very beautiful EN cover of this song! Since I wanted to try a hand at another EN cover, I took 2000 liberties with the lyrics and melody, hope that's ok! This is mostly a self-indulgent cover; I liked the song, so I wrote down the chords and improvised something on the piano, and then decided I wanted to tune some vocals, and then harmonies, and then... well, I suppose it's only missing some art and a video to accompany an upload. PGR is a very dear game to me. I started playing it at a very low point in life, so listening to this and channeling some of that into music... yes, that is the indomitable human spirit! I mostly prioritized specific words and phrases I wanted to use, but there are a bunch of smaller intentions behind some of the word choices. I'll spare the details and only mention these specific choices here: - "Can I still hold your hand?" was originally "Have you forsaken me?" but I changed it last minute. I think I prefer the call back to hands poetically, even if in my heart I still sing about the forsaken. - "A plea to heavens" was going to be swapped with "a song to passing birds" to draw back to the birds in the second stanza, but I kept the original line because the former was easier to say even though it's darker. - The inspiration for the switch to plural at the end came from the Surviving Lucem chapter. I cried when everyone started singing together with Liv. Yes, despite these hardships, we will support each other and watch each others' back. I'm sure of it!
