I chose to make it that way to reference NEET culture as a whole. A part of NEET living surrounds the “shut in” lifestyle so many people who are trapped in that habitual routine often have trouble finding work, money, and/or love. Masturbation ends up being their way of dealing with the stress and depression that surrounds that life. That and of course lacking in actual physical intimacy with someone else. Thus, it’s a literal and metaphorical meaning in regards to the NEET life which is what the song discusses! Additionally, it’s to reference the original PV as it used art depicting Miku in her underwear (By no means do I condone sexualization of Miku as the character due to this however)
